Our chocolate molded sea shells now have an elegant glow.
Gold luster dust brushed onto white, milk or dark chocolate shells brings out the stunning ridges and swirls on these pieces.

One look at this cake and you know it’s for the Groom. After all, who else but the groom would want a cake shaped like a pint of beer? The cake should taste like chocolate, but look like beer. No problem, right?
Well, at Beaches Pastry, that’s not a strange request. In fact, we find these requests challenging and pretty cool. After all, cake is our medium.

Bright colors and bold flavors enhanced a tropical theme at a local wedding reception.
The bride and groom selected delicious flavors, thrilling their family and friends with an assortment of cupcakes:
Gerbera daisies and colorful seashells decorated the cupcakes, while a sugar “beach” surrounded the base of the stand.
Call Beaches Pastry for your next party and liven things up with fresh tropical flavors!
The cake for Amanda and Matt’s recent wedding reflects Amanda’s stylish taste with small, simple patterns and the use of tone-on-tone coloring on the cake’s exterior. White roses and light green orchid blossoms add a hint of color and grace to this lovely cake.
Each cake was different, allowing guests to sample more than one flavor. Dark chocolate cake was filled with white chocolate mousse, rich vanilla cake was filled with raspberry mousse, and vanilla cake was filled with dark chocolate mousse.
Amanda’s mother sent me an e-mail recently:
“Mary – the wedding cake was beautiful and tasted wonderful. … Thanks again for being a part of Amanda’s wedding and for making her day special.”
Who knew all of those delicious flavors were hidden under layers of Italian Meringue Buttercream?!
The Lexus GS 350 Sedan Groom’s Cake was a hit!
We received this letter from the newlyweds not long ago:
“Thank you soo much for the amazing cake. Not only did it look great but it tasted incredible.
Thanks for helping our special day even more special.”
We wish you many years of joy and happiness. Call us on your first anniversary for another celebration cake!
By the time this is posted, Adam and Andi will be married. We wish them many years of happiness and joy.
Today, we’re finishing up this cake for tonight’s rehearsal dinner – a replica of Adam’s car – a Lexus GS 350 sedan. Here are a few photos of the cake as it progresses from a large rectangle to a sculpted sedan.
The rectangle of cake layers is carefully carved to form the outer shape of the car.
Rolled fondant, colored black to match Adam’s car, has been smoothed over the carved cake. Details, such as the front grille and headlights, are also made from rolled fondant and glued to the car’s exterior.
Today we’ll add windows, doors and rear trim, then deliver it to the party this afternoon. I’d better get back to work!
There are days when I need a laugh. Days when my sole reason for getting out of bed is to pipe tiny details onto hundreds of cookies or bake large batches of cakes for upcoming events. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the creativity and detail of the job, but some days I seem to lose my sense of humor.
And then, Barb called a few days after her wedding with this story:
The cake was unbelievable, from the tastes of all three layers, to the detailing on the outside. All of our guests raved about the taste and elegance of the style. Several commented they had never seen anything like it. My groom enjoyed it so much that when we had the official cake cutting and I fed him first, he promptly grabbed a fork and the plate and walked away without feeding me!!! He said it was so good, he wasn’t sharing it. Everyone loved it!
With that call, I located my sense of humor, which had probably been hiding under layers of buttercream and royal icing. And I jumped right back into my work…
